Roof top flags are made to be seen from a distance, helping a building or business stand out above the surrounding area, which suits taller commercial premises, hotels and towers across Dubai. They sit above street level sightlines, so they stay visible from further away and from more directions than a flag mounted lower down.
We use our heaviest polyester weight in the outdoor flags range for rooftop formats, because wind speed increases significantly the higher a flag sits, and a rooftop position on a Dubai high-rise takes far stronger and more constant gusts than a ground level flag ever will. We double the stitching along the fly edge, the outer edge that takes the most flapping stress, so the flag does not start fraying within the first few months of installation.
Mounting is typically a reinforced pole secured with guy cabling or a weighted base plate, and for taller installations or larger flag sizes we recommend the mounting point be checked by your building's facilities or structural team before installation, since the load on a rooftop pole in strong wind is considerable, particularly on older Dubai properties. We size the artwork so a logo stays clear and readable when viewed from the street below.
Rooftop flags work well alongside a lower level display too, hotels and mixed use towers often pair a roof top flag for long distance branding with terrace flags marking a restaurant or amenity deck for people already on the property. Most buildings require sign off from facilities or building management before anything is fixed to the roof, so it is worth checking that first.
